The true cost of the war in Iraq.

A bit long but very illuminating.

And very biased ..... but if they calculate it cost every American household 138 dollars a month to pay for it, let me write out a quick check for 24 months in advance. If you wait till May I can toss in another $1200 from the economic stimulas check thats coming as well , that should get me paid up for another three years.

That's great for you. Well done!
But what about the millions of Americans to whom 138 dollars a month is alot of money?
I find it strange that you appear to be happier seeing your (presumably) hard earned tax dollar being spent killing people half a world away (or going into the pocket of Haliburton shareholders or mercenaries) than seeing it spent helping your fellow Americans who are less forunate than yourself.

I'm not going to go into the whole Iraq thing again, Its been talked to death here ... besides, the mission was accomplished. You and I won't agree , so it ends here. Historians 100 years from now will decide whether what the US and its allie did was good or bad

I guess if we did it the way you'd prefer, we be on voting on the 200th UN resolution to mkae Saddam behave.

And yes, $138 is alot of money to me, however, I'd pay 1000 times that if it helped keep my country safe and secure from current and future threats ..... most other Americans would too (minus the 20% of Americans who wouldn't defend their country if the Red Chinese were sailing into San Francisco bay)

That's fair enough.
Yes the Iraq thing has been done to death, I was just trying to highlight the cost and how it is affecting the US economy (and the whole world's) in a disastrous manner. I just think the money could be better spent on so many more worthwhile causes. Why not spend American money on helping Americans in America?
But, 'mission accomplished'? No, and never will be.
And can you explain how Iraq was threatening the US?
