Well worth the read.

He has vocally encouraged his attorney general to target political opponents. He has suggested the goverment should revoke TV licences to bring a biased mainstream media to heel. He has targeted law firms he sees as adversaries, pulling government security clearances and contracts.
His demand a week ago that the Justice Department prosecute a handful of named political opponents, for instance, is the kind of thing that, when it was discussed in private and revealed in Oval Office recordings a half-century ago, prompted a bipartisan outcry that led to Richard Nixon's resignation as president.
On Thursday, Trump signed an order on "domestic terrorism and political violence", saying it would be used to investigate "wealthy people" who fund "professional anarchists and agitators". He suggested liberal billionaires George Soros and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman could be among them.
Trump has justified a looming crackdown on left-wing groups by pointing to two recent, and shocking, acts of violence. First, the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on a college campus, and then this week's gun attack targeting immigration agents in Dallas, in which two migrant detainees were wounded and one killed.
Now, someone is wrongly going to scream: GODWIN’S LAW!!!.
They do not comprehend:
A. It’s not actually a law.
B. It’s about a thread ultimately ending in a comparison to Hitler, but this one actually starts there.
What did Hitler do?
He layed blame on the left. Indeed, before he was railroading Jews to the camps, he was targetting unions and communists.
He uses an attack on parliament as a basis for his criminalization of alll left wing groups.
And tons of supporters stood by his rallies applauding, saluting and waving their flags.
Either not knowing or caring they were throwing their country to the beasts of dictatorship.
Any science Hitler didn’t like, any scientist which didn’t fit his agenda: cancelled.
Any media he didn’t like: cancelled.
And many wonder how he ever got so far?
Well, listen to the howling of the maga crowd as they fall for, or accept, the very same methodology as the Germans in 1933/34.
And both Hitler and trump surround themselves with yesmen and creeps.

When Trump announces he is now KING Trump, the ones sucking up to him the most will get the most cushy jobs and THAT is what these asssholes are striving for.
It might already be too late to save our democracy and the US will NEVER recover, maybe 50 years from now if a coup happens and democracy is restored the country as a whole will be so far down in the mud financially we may not eve recover in century 22.
