the world is a crap hole, for sure, but you can't place all the blame on the US.

Why is it that we acknowledge the world has major problems, but very few people do anything to try to solve these problems...?
and I am not implying that I do my part either...

All I can say is that mankind is simply geared towards narcissisism and self interest which, by the way, is in large part what is wrong with the world. We simply expect things to go our way and therefore, take those things that do go our way for granted. However, cross our path for any reason and God help us all!! We will hear all about it.
As for coming up with answers to our problems, I don't think we are all interested in the best answers that benefit everyone, rather, we simply want things to go our way. As a result, the answers we come up with to the world's problems usually only benefit ourselves and unfortunatly usually only end up contributing to the overall problems in the world.
That is how I see it, how about you? Did I win a million dollars? 😀
Originally posted by Redmikethe US became the bad person right after the WWII. paranoia caused by the communist threat(excessive paranoia, there was after all some threat) and meddling in foreign wars caused it to be viewed as the bully. no nazis rose so that the US could save the world. instead only news about the crappy wars they got involved, the beating of the blacks, the nixon scandal, the kennedy assasination, etc reached our ears. before the they were quite nice and saved our euros butt 2 times.(three if you count the marshall plan)
Would the answer have been "In 100 years it will all be the fault of the US"?
i haven't given up on amerika. i just wouldn't want to live there in the present or the near future 😀

i reckon that people who say stuff like that are mostly jealous and resentful types who would give their right arm for the opportunity to be admitted
Originally posted by shavixmirThe answer then would have been: Great Britain and her Empire. Let's face it, the world (or at least the Left) hates winners.
Paranoid tendencies. Again.
However, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're wrong.
If you'd asked this question 100 years ago you'd have had a totally different answer.
