Europe made clear their intent to reduce dependance on China but the reality is a lot more grim. The first link posted details how Europe wants to ban Chinese-made power inverters for securities reasons, fearing Chinese hackers could shut down power grids. The problem: Europe cannot sustain the amount of power inverters needed without China.
90 Percent of manufactured U.S. goods purchased by Americans have foreign components; of the 90 percent, China by far the most dominant supplier. This also includes goods that say "Made In The USA". That label is heavily misleading when you look at the foreign involvement in the supply chain of "Made In America" products.
Of the 3 Superpowers, China is the quietest, least brash and most tactful. China tends to stay out the news much more than the other 2, and nowhere near as war mongering. This is deceptive since China is an oppressive authoritarian regime, arguably even more than Russia is to its own citizens.
That means reliance on China comes with a lot of strings attached; don't dare call Taiwan a country. Oh, and we may have spyware on our products that could also remotely control your operations.
