Pride against humility. Humility is a passive state of being which interferes with the individual's recognition of ability. It is a state of being from which nothing arises but being smug.
kindness against envy,
Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
Envy against kindness. Kindness is the desire for everyone to stop competing and it is against the laws of nature. There's a reason you envy, it's because you need to think up a way of being king of the castle yourself and therefore ensuring the highest likelyhood for the transfer of your genetic pool.
abstinence against gluttony,
Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
Gluttony against abstinence. Abstinence is just silly, how can going without something be good for you. Hunt, hoard, devour, sleep like there's no dawn. In the words of Mr Han, a man's strength flows from his appetites.
chastity against lust,
Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
Lust against chastity. Chastity is a ridiculous concept. It is suggesting that the world should end, that the natural desire to reproduce should be stemmed and no one need have awkward eye contact moments at teenage parties.
patience against anger,
Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.
Anger against patience. Patience is a way of ending as far back from the bar as possible, waiting for twice as long as you should do, missing opportunities and taking cr*p from everyone and anyone.
liberality against greed,
Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.
Greed against liberality. Ladders, it's all about ladders. Welcome to the world of climbing, if you give your ladder to someone else you'll be sitting on the groung whilst the others drop things on you from great heights, unpleasant things.
diligence against sloth.
Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
Sloth against diligence. If you can afford to take it easy why stress yourself out. Why run yourself into an early grave when you could stretch out in a hammock, sipping a pina colada and listening to Kruder and Dorfmeister?
The seven deadly sins are nothing more than an attempt to constrain people from enjoying anything about life. Obviously do things in moderation (you can have too much of a good thing), but how happy can you be being humble, worked to the bone, poor, skinny, with no dreams, or desires, you get no sex, and take it all with a dumb acceptance? Oh wait... I see, the reward is in the next life... silly me. 🙂

I was complimenting your succinctness.
I'm sure that as a White House spokesman you would certainly enlghten America.
It would be a complete disaster...

Jesus can forgive you for all thoughs sins, no one else can.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
In the Bible it doesn't say anything about 7 deadly sins. Read the 10 commandments thoughs are more deadly.

When you have no job and you sit around all day playing Video games watching movies you have your mind on a lot of stuff. With can be stressful. Now when you work it can keep your mind off of stressful things.

i guess Jesus might think there are some.
btw saying the words dont draw you a bye on da works , jesus is a bit smarter than that.

Three major architects of the present Culture of Death:
Freud --> Lust
Marx --> Avarice
Nietzsche --> Pride
and interpreted thing that they observed. Lust, avarice and pride are all well-
documented traits long before any of these guys discussed them.
Has their writing contributed to what you term the 'Culture of Death?' I'm not
so sure about this. Most people who engage in what you call the 'Culture of
Death' phenomenon probably haven't read a word of any of these three authors.

Yes, I know.
