Obama created a hell of a mess, it is now up to Trump to fix it.

I told you an alternative many times;

Citizenship for those undocumented immigrants who have came here to build a life, raise a family and work.

Prompt deportation hearings for the relative few who have not (that would require hiring more immigration judges but would be a lot cheaper than mass concentration camps).
You are quite casual about the requirements to become citizens, indeed. You think that just because they have been working here, and have not criminal record , that they earn the right to be citizens? You sure are casual about the value of American citizenship. These people have broken the law that legal immigrants have followed, but you want them to have the same rights of citizenship? Help me Rhonda. Libs are truly liberal. Next you will say they have Natural Rights, whatever that is. Anyway we are required to enforce immigratin laws that are already in place. So here you are promoting just one more 'Change the Constitution" movement.
Please. Except for those who were born here, citizenship is not a right. How about meet halfway and let them have another designation,,,,,,something that is not the eqivalent that you and I have. You demean citizenship, Marauder. Citizenshp is a privilege , it is not a right. You often confuse the two in your wide-open all-encompasing views of society, where 'we would all end up in the same place at the end of the day,'

You demean this country by opposing immigration given the enormous economic benefits it provides.

The roadblocks this nation throws up to hamper immigration are xenophobic and counter productive. The sooner we return to a policy of welcoming hard working, family raising persons the better.

Please, no more january 6

This is also what I mean about second-guessing leaders, who know more than we do, just wasting forum ink. One of you was al upset about building concentration camps?? Well, this will settle that matter.

Trump will stick 30k of them at Guanta ...[text shortened]... One of you wrote yesterday that he needs to tell us about these conversations!!!!!!
Yeah, right.
The facility in Guantanamo was built to contain 800 terrorists. Now we're cramming 50k in there? But don't call it a concentration camp. Its just a concentrated group of people camped in an isolated area.

Come on. This is absurd on many levels. It's waaaaay too many people to put at Guantanamo. It's also waaaaay fewer than the 10 million undocumented immigrants that the administration is trying to round up.

Marx

Tell us the duty that we have to other countries’ citizens to give them a life in America. In plain English, please thank you very much.

We don't have a "duty".

But it would be the smart thing to do.

EDIT: We do, however, have obligations towards people seeking asylum and refugees under treaties and US law that Trump is violating.

It is not smart to give these people equal status of our present citizens on a whim. You need to give it up.
And the definition of camp in 1940 may be different than our definition of camp. You people need to relax. Trump is your president, get used to it. I think he has counted his 30,000 spaces in Guantánamo.

You are ignorant of the way US asylum laws work

It's hardly a "whim" to recognize increased immigration would have a substantial economic benefit. Speeding the process of naturalization for such immigrants would be a wise policy making it easier for them to work, raise families and contribute to society.

I don't buy your attempt to change the meaning of "concentration camp" just because the Donald wants to build them.

Trump is the President, not an all-powerful dictator like you want him to be. Already two of his Executive Orders have been halted by the courts: the birthright one being called "blatantly unconstitutional" by a Reagan appointee and his Federal loan and grant freeze having to be quickly rescinded after a judge ruled he had no legal authority to do it. Expect more and more of his illegal orders to meet the same fate.
