An interesting story at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7309887/.

Tom DeLay, who shepherded through the law allowing federal courts to intervene at the last moment and has called allowing Terri to die as per her wishes "barbaric", apparently agreed with the cutting off of medical treatment such as dialysis to his father in 1988. The elder DeLay was in an accident and was in an irreversible coma. Although he had no written living will, he had expressed wishes that he not be allowed to live like that. Sound familiar?

“There was no point to even really talking about it,” Maxine DeLay, the congressman’s 81-year-old mother, told the Times. “Tom knew, we all knew, his father wouldn’t have wanted to live that way.”

Wonder if Ivanhoe will want an investigation into this case, too.

It's not. I also heard this reported on the news several times today. There's nothing funny about hypocrisy.

I wonder if #1 has any delusions that his anonymous identity on the internet
and the posts that originate from it have any legal currency with respect to
libel?

Unlike some people on this site, I don't treat every news story as gospel truth. The story is being reported but Congressman DeLay has not commented on it, so I put a "?" after it because I don't know for sure if it's true. If people who post stories on internet sites could be easily sued for libel, Michael Schiavo would wind up with more money than Bill Gates.

I have more faith in a trial court and 5 appellate courts who see ALL the evidence than a bunch of ill- and mis-informed people on the internet trying to score political points. I'm funny like that.
