Anyone read his book? About him getting busted for (For Shame) selling glass bongs. American Justice at its best......Republicans can't wait till the whole bill of rights is torn to shreds and the Constitution re-written more to the taste of the power hungry right wing frothing at the mouth bottom feeders running the country right now. Thing is, things always change, maybe in a few years we get our country back again.

What country was he in?
Originally posted by AThousandYoungThe friggin US. It seems the Feds decided it needed a law that could be used to trap people like Cheech and Chong for daring to rididule the government and they made a law in 1994 that made it a federal crime, a felony actually, to transport 'drug paraphanalia' across state lines. Now Tommy had started a bong business with one of his sons and they were making glass bongs that were actually sold to art studios and were considered real art objects, so when the actual power behind that puppet Bush decided they needed a distraction from the stupid war in Iraq, they figured they would raid his house and if they found weapons, they could send him to prison for ten years or more but found only a pound of pot (Duh). So they busted up his business literally, and trotted him off to court, not even bothering with the pot and said to accept a jail term (lots of media around, the bust was leaked to the media, they had helicopters overhead and swat teams charge into his house and searched it for 5 hours and came up empty handed in the frantic search for weapons) so if he fought it, they would charge his wife and son and send them to jail also. Another stain of shame on the right wing so-called government we have.

So they sent him to federal prison for 9 months. He could have gotten two years but the judge thought he was being lenient I guess. What an ufayed upa sytem.

What law is this? Do you have more info? I'm a stoner and my friend owns a head shop, so this is kind of important info for me.
They're just as usable with tobacco, so they're not necessarily "drug paraphenalia". At least that's the typical head shop strategy to avoid getting in trouble - advertise that the pipes are for tobacco only.
So they got him for having a pound of weed, eh? That's lame, but it's the way this country is. The conservatives think they have some right to suppress the rights of others.

If you sell bong's, don't mail them across state lines. You may become another mucking scapegoat. Make sure the makers are in the same state, that way the feds can't touch you. They want the celebreties anyway, They raided dozens of head shops across the US and arrested 55 people but Tommy was the only one sentenced to prison, 9 months. The feds were probably upset he only got that much. Screw those nazi bastids. They want Woody Harrilson, Willie Nelson and their latest catch, Tommy Chong. Read his book.
