Inflation, Crime Still Top Concerns for Voters
Monday, August 22, 2022
The issues most important to American voters haven’t changed all year, as inflation and violent crime remain atop the list.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 85% of Likely U.S. voters are at least somewhat concerned about inflation, including 57% who are Very Concerned. That’s almost unchanged since May.

Ok, the reason why I post this is because another poster in 'Debates' demonstrated with another poll
that the most important issue going into the midterms was America's Democracy threatened.
I balked. I felt that had to be wrong because I never saw "democracy threatened" in any other poll that I saw.
Let's be on the lookout. I suspect a democratic party propaganda ploy. Oh, and @Jimm...
notice that the link came from rasmussen so you and @sonhouse and @suzie could not complain.
Y'all have a nice posting day. 🙂

EDIT: to add, I also do not see "abortion" listed as a poll choice, either.

@Mott-The-Hoople
Let's hope things look up for you and your family. BTW, gas is under 4 bucks a gallon in three stations here in Allentown Pa.
And there were over half million new hires last month, and even I got a nice job paying 28 bucks an hour.
@earl-of-trumps saidRasmussen is a joke of a pollster.

The #1 issue being "threats to democracy" was in a poll YOU relied on in an OP.
@no1marauder saidWell, of course, Rasmussen is a joke. They are not currently telling you what you want to hear! Nothing new there, Snoopy.

I seriously doubt it was ME that put such a link in here where the #1 issue was "threat to democracy".
@mott-the-hoople saidSo ...... your whole idea of the American dream hangs by a thread of global shifts that create uncertainties in the economy at the global level.
my major concern is being able to provide for my family…the future is looking bleak
One would think that the vaunted American ideology would give you guys a bit of a cushion when things get a bit tough.
But really, the way you guys make things sound, the increase in the price of gas (still much lower than elsewhere in the world) and food is sending Americans to the food banks in droves.
And Trump can fix all that.
Yup. OK.
@earl-of-trumps saidNo, Rasmussen is a Republican pollster who uses outdated methods and who's results are consistently out of step with most polls (invariably leaning an extra 5+ points or so rightward).
Well, of course, Rasmussen is a joke. They are not currently telling you what you want to hear! Nothing new there, Snoopy.

Yes, you did Earl; you liked a Breitbart article about a NBC poll but never bothered to look at the full poll results. The thread is "about those Midterms.......... "
There was just a special election in NY19, a swing district a bit south of where I live which Biden carried by 2 points in 2020. The Republican candidate's ads were all about the economy with added cameos by Pelosi, AOC and Schumer. The Democrat's ads focused on the threat to reproductive and other rights a Republican Congress would be.
Guess who won?

Really? do you understand it is still TWICE as much as it was under Trump? who is pocketing all that money?
$28 an hour? unskilled labor starts out very near that in my area.
how many real jobs created? what used to be counted as a job is now 3 part time jobs…open your eyes
@sonhouse saidBiden drove gas prices up by 3 dollars a gallon, then lowered the price by 50 cents a gallon, and you think he deserves a pat on the back?

Guess what the #1 issue is according to voters?
You have to go to p. 16 here (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22156173-220455-nbc-news-august-poll-82122-release) and you won't read it on Breitbart.
"Threats to democracy".
I won't read it on Breitbart is RIGHT because that link of your shows BOGUS polling.
Coming from you, a lying liberal, why am I not surprised.

"NBC anchor Chuck Todd said Sunday on “Meet the Press” that a new NBC News poll finds “Americans are angry” with a graphic showing 74% of those polled say the country is on the wrong track."
My link: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22156173-220455-nbc-news-august-poll-82122-release
Heck, on p. 3 it has your 74% "Off on the Wrong Track" result.
Sometimes the stupidity shown by right wingers on this board is downright painful to read.
