JUST LIKE Hitler, Stalin and the rest of them, consolidate power in ONE branch, ONE person.
He wants to do all the presidential appointments by himself because if congress is not in session there is an old rule saying the president has the power to make appointment ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS ONLY, but Trump is using that to make the legislative branch moot, consolidating power in Trump alone.
If he sent his appointments through congress like normal, they would do his bidding and put through whomever he choses, no question.
But that is not good enough for Trump, he wants TOTAL power to be in Trump's hands and to make the previous independent branches of government a thing of the past.
The reason for that is also clear, he doesn't want even a HINT of opposition when congress realizes too late they have been taken.
Meanwhile his base will be completely unaware of the change to total power and Trump would not even have to ANNOUNCE he would be in fact a dictator, his coup complete.
Then the coming elections will be so rigged, I mean ALL of them, County dog catcher, state houses, and the rest, all run EXACTLY like Putin runs elections now.
And OF COURSE all you ultrarightwingnuts will be going Sonhouse says the sky is falling, ha ha ha.
Trump is ALREADY a dictator and you all don't even realize it just yet, you WILL though when it is WAY too late.
Why do you think he wants to can 50,000 fed workers? To install sycophants loyal to Trump ALONE so he can consolidate the takeover of the fed process.
