Trump doesn't know ....

Debates

In a recent interview (link below), Trump says he "doesn't know" if he is required to abide by due process of law. After all, the oath of office he swore only says he has to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" but nothing about actually abiding by it.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 8:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:– I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Obviously, swearing an oath means nothing more to him than blowing out candles on a birthday cake: it's just something people do on certain occasions, but entails no commitment, responsibility, or accountability.

Of course, exile is the more humane choice.

I could have been convinced... πŸ˜†

I am not able to read Trump as well as y'all are, but it could be, it just could be, that he is saying....let me get this straight...that he does not know if the due process clause applies to these criminal invaders.
You have put your own slant on this and have said...'Trump does not know if he is required to abide by the due process of law'. You do not close your post, moombus. What a surprise. This is a common practice of liberals on the Forum, you do not close your posts, so they are meaningless.
Properly written, you would have said as follows:

""Trump says he doesn't know if he is required to abide by due process of law AS SAME PERTAINS TO ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS."
I wish y'all would give more thought to your posts. Makes me tired!

PS: Do you know if it pertains to to illegal alien invaders?

Yup, that's how it works in banana republics, no waste, no fraud, very efficient: just hang the bastards, no wasted effort on due process of law. Like, I mean, we just know they're criminals, right, so why bother with an expensive trial and presenting evidence and waiting for some corrupt partisan judge to let them off on a fookin technicality.

Actually, a banana republic is when you know there won’t even be a trial. πŸ˜†
