Like disease spreading through a body, Donald Trump has weakened the GOP nationwide. His single minded fixation on the 2020 election, and attacks on fellow Republicans have left the GOP divided and angry. A surge of Republicans quitting the party to renounce Donald Trump after the deadly Capitol riot could hurt moderates in next year’s primaries, adding a capstone to Trump’s legacy as president: A potentially lasting rightward push on the party.
More than 68,000 Republicans have left the party in recent weeks in Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, crucial states for Democrats’ hopes of keeping control of Congress in the mid-term elections in 2022, state voter data shows. That’s about three times the roughly 23,000 Democrats who left their party in the same states over the same time period.
If the exodus is sustained, it will be to the advantage of candidates in the Republican Party’s nomination contests who espouse views that play well with its Trump-supporting base but not with a broader electorate. That could make it harder for Republican candidates to beat Democrats in November, said Morris Fiorina, a political scientist at Stanford University. “If these voters are leaving the party permanently, it’s really bad news for Republicans,” Fiorina said.
Well done Donnie - Keep up the good work! π

Trump is a president with no script, and makes good points one after another. He talks, like a human being, he relates to everyone around him. I miss him. π

No - He relates to that fan base around him. Most voters think far less of him. This is why he got his oversized fanny wailed in the last election.
So sorry you miss him though - π’

No, I don't think you are.
Sad!
@suzianne saidWell,, I wish we could let him be president just for July 4 so that we can feel some patriotism. Which president leans more that way, Suzianne? Yeah, that's right.
You're kidding, right?
No, I don't think you are.
Sad!
If he were president this week, we could have fireworks at Mt Rushmore. I bet that the president gets to see fireworks where he (and Jill, of course, always his crutch beside him,,creepy) where he and Jill are.
Suzianne......that is not EQUAL!!!! Must be difficult being a liberal, so many conflicts. You gonna see some fireworks.?

Trump is ranked by historians. No, this isn't a Lib-Dem sham. Historians from both ends of the spectrum rank presidents on ten issues. The good news for Trump supporters: he's not dead last.
