What does this say about Democracy as practiced by Pres Biden? He is infringing on the rights of Kennedy, plain and simple. Why do you people play these silly games?
Should Biden dictate (sorry, Sonhouse) that Kennedy cannot present himself to the masses who will pick a president? Is it faaaaaaiiiiiir for Trump and Biden to get the spotlight that has equally been earned by Kennedy?
Biden violates the rights of Robert Kennedy. Am I wrong?

Where is this "right" to engage in a televised debate derived from? Trump never insisted that third party candidates in 2016 and 2020 had such a "right".

Looks like he's scared of a man on man with Biden.

I would have to research debate rights, too busy.
But the question remains, this debate, however you want to categorize it, will be watched prob more than the Super Bowl, and i would think the organizers would put on the list all who qualify. Why are you so mad and defensive? Child like. Never mind, nothing new.

Scared of Biden? Biden cannot stand up for more than 20 minutes. I hope Trump encircles him. I fear that Biden will be allowed to take drugs like he did at SOTU. So, no real Biden at the debate. No dimwit in an ice cream parlor. A real Trump will be at the debate.

Neither of them want to debate, but trump definitely thinks that Kennedy would take the heat off him. Worms in the brain.

Joe did you hear about trump standing silent at the podium for 30 seconds because his teleprompter broke? Literally does not have thoughts.

Show me where it says that anyone has a right, but you probably mean an entitlement, to debate someone else? Show me where it says anyone has an obligation to accept a challenge to debate? Show me where it says a political campaign has anything at all to do with “faaaaaiiiir” (viz. paying hush-money to porn stars, denying it happened, and claiming it was a business expense ).

Can we not agree that debates have had the same status and recognition as part of the American political scene since Kennedy vs Nixon?
You of the Woke world will cast that aside, as it is your mission to make it harder to practice the necessary skills of public life. Our friend Moonbus here wants to exercise the new woke-created process of CANCEL.

Moonbus wants to cancel freedom. He is a parasite, lives off of others, and lacks any respect for the process of debate in our society, rather preaching Marxism.

I'm all in favour of debate, provided the candidates adhere to some basic rules of conduct. Based on Trump's past performance, if I were Biden's advisors, I would agree to debating Trump only under the following conditions:

1. Each candidate would be given a fixed time in which to present his case. Interruptions and interjections would not be tolerated.

2. Any factually untrue statement or fictitious or unsupported statistic ('unemployment is x%', 'the economy did this that or the other', 'there were many dead people who voted', etc.) would be immediately flagged as such and bleeped out.

To ensure that these basic conditions were met, I would further propose that Trump be confined to a locked and soundproof glass booth, that his microphone be remotely and automatically turned off when it is not his turn to speak, that a five minute delay be imposed on everything he says to give time for fact checking (using AI in real time), and that anything he said which was not true or supported by verifiable statistics (see item 2. above) be immediately flagged with blinking red signs and bleeped out.

Everyone may want to make note of these observations. But watch your back pocket.
