It’s Trump’s standard tactic. Deny and discredit the accuser, accuse the opponent of what YOU did ("steal the election"😉, reverse the truth, meet every suit with a ruinously expensive counter-suit. He learned it from his mentor, Roy Cohn, who was Senator Joe McCarthy’s chief legal council during the witch-hunts. That’s also where Trump gets his oft-repeated claim that he’s the victim of a witch-hunt. All straight out of Roy Cohn's playbook.

That is incredibly interesting. I would've never known that had you not posted. Trump was mentored by the legal council of the man McCarthyism is named after.

This is why I keep returning to RHP.

@vivify

It’s not about truth or justice; it’s about using the legal system against itself to win at any cost. Even when you lose, declare a win.

Roy Cohn was himself later discredited. There’s plenty of biographical information about him on the Internet.

The jury determined she was not raped. She lied.

Not necessarily. It depends on one’s definition of “rape.” There are fine legal distinctions between rape and sexual abuse.

"It wasn't rape, I only sexually abused her abused her!"

The court made that legal distinction. The court concluded she was sexually assaulted but not raped. Why do you think Trump has a good case? She made a false allegation publicly. That is exactly what E Carol sued Trump for.

Your problem is with the court's finding. Take it up with them.
The court enabled Trump to sue her for defamation. The court said she was NOT raped.

@vivify

Yes. American judicial system is a joke.
That’s something that really needs an update.

"The court did not say she was raped."

is a far different sentence than

"The court said she was NOT raped."

Guess which one is true?

Both.

Do you know the difference between sexual abuse and rape?

From the Newsweek link below:

"So, we can establish that Trump was not found "guilty" of rape as he was not criminally charged, nor was he found liable for rape. Further, the civil claim was on a battery tort but brought forward using an extension of the statute of limitations for crimes including rape."

https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-was-donald-trump-found-guilty-rape-1799935

"Any one of the three would have sufficed. The jury found two of the three applied, but not rape."
