Well the fuel shortages have caused quite a bump in EV sales both new and second hand as people determine not be be a victim of oil price shock anymore. Who would have thunk it. Trump is doing more to encourage people to transition to newer cleaner technology than any other leader before him. Go Trump!
@kmax87 saidYes, but, are people rushing to buy Teslas or their Chinese competitors' EVs?

@moonbus saidI think the made in America/China isn't that much of a feature anymore. Where a vehicle is made doesn't make that much of a difference. While Tesla was at the forefront of innovation people may have leaned that way, but Tesla has made many missteps apart from Elon 's shenanigans. Over promising but under-delivering gets old really quickly.

The hype over the cyber truck was a black eye as well as full self driving which is finally almost here depending on your jurisdiction. The thing is China with BYD just kept innovating. Now we are on the cusp of solid state batteries with energy densities that will also transform air travel. Range anxiety is now dead and recharge speed is within the time of a natural stop on a long trip. On recharge speed/ cost/ reliability EV's are the hands down value proposition.
Can Tesla win back it's influence? Flying too close to Trump's orbit may have irreparably damaged their brand. The Tesla buyer is not the natural fan of Trump's anti environmentalism, but who can say, other than time will tell.
