Blair continued with Thatcher's ideals hence the wonderful phrase Blatcherism. 20 years of that would screw up any country.
Why do people blame the conservatives for other people's actions? I've heard people complaining that the conservatives moving to the left causes people to vote BNP instead of conservative, hence they are at fault for what the BNP do...
Originally posted by mrstabbyI thought the claim was labour to the right lead to desertion from the old left in inner city areas to the BNP. Right wing tories have got UKIP.

Anybody any ideas what we are doing wrong? Any solutions?
The only decent thing Blair did was give the Bank of England independance - something the Tories would never have done.
Remember in the '80's how the interest rate would mysteriously drop several % in the run-up to an election, regardless of the state of the economy?
Even giving the BoE independance has backfired in that the economy has had it's longest period of sustained growth ever & this is reflected in stupidly high long-term house price inflation.
Nice one Mr Blair!
Bring back the Tories, 15% interest rates & 3m unemployed.
At least my mortgage will be affordable.

Any chimp can find a book on Amazon. I've yet to see one of those things in a proper bookshop.
Well, excuuuuuse me for trying to help. I suspect those books won't be
displaying in "proper bookshops" any time soon, but I also figure that's what
you've been saying all along.
Am I the chimp king, or what? Hoh, hoh, hoh!
The post that was quoted here has been removedthey became so rubbish that the electorate booted them so far into the long grass, they still havent found their way back onto the pitch yet. its modern history. i blame them for new labour because if they hadnt screwed-up, we wouldnt have had new labout elected.
