I think it's sad that in 2020 there is a need for a magazine
whose market is dictated by skin pigmentation.
Do you think this sort of publication helps or hinders black people ?
Imagine separate products for people with small noses and big noses; or people with green eyes and blue eyes; or people with short legs and long legs; or people with black hair and red hair ...

And it sells 11.000 copies per publication?
I can’t judge the need for it. What do normal girly mags for the age group 7-14 have in them? And does it miss things that black girls specifically need?
Say the normal mags don’t have role-models in them for black girls, then I can imagine it being a problem.
Much the same as you buy a boyly mag full of war stories and all the lead characters, the heroes, are white German girls fighting the Soviets in Southern Poland in March 1945. And that their main concern is make-up and cooking tips for on the run

The more satisfying solution would be for regular magazines to become more inclusive in the stories they published.

@athousandyoung saidMagazines for people owned by people would be my Utopian idea.
