Maybe a few years ago...I would agree.

But more and more British Muslims are waking up to this and chanlledging the extremists.

So, I would argue that attitudes are changing

Their was an interesting progamme on the BBC last night about this

Do you think that the muslim and the IRA terrorists have legitimate 'grievances' which justify their murderous activities?

Entirely moot, all here agree there is no justification for terrorism and atrocities labelled such.

To answer your original question, no countryman will think, or want to think, that their homeland may be a safe haven for terrorists...

Besides, since we don't know who is a terrorist and who isn't, how do you arrive at your hypothosis?

The UK was a haven for South African terrorists; luckily they had no reason to bomb the UK. Besides, as any military man knows, every civilian is a potential terrorist and should be treated with the utmost caution. Although nowadays "military" is being increasingly replaced by the more ambiguous "security".

I'm so sick of the argument that goes, "this country has terrorists in it so this country must be a safe haven for them"

Extend this logic....

The US has people who murder other people so therefore the US must be a safe haven for murderers.

Canada has car thieves so Canada must be a safe haven for car thieves.

Spain has people who steal food so Spain must be a safe haven for food stealers.

My office has people who steal pens so my office must be a safe haven for pen stealers.

This type of logic is flawed to the core. 😴😞

Terrorists are pursued and brought to trial as soon possible. Come on now! Quit the hyperbole.

Well Britain is partially responsible for creating terrorists from the US to the middle-east, from Ireland to India, from Africa to Southern America...

If anyone's good at it, it's Britain. I don't think New Labour has anything to do with it.
