I imagine some people would rather fight than give up their freedoms. Moreover, while Ukraine is not going to defeat the Russian army militarily, there's every chance that a persistent insurgency will eventually garner enough support from the West and enough frustration on the Russian home front to win some sort of face-saving deal that doesn't involve total Russian domination.
Ukraine needs to fully surrender, immediately. They can't stop Russia, so rather than waste human lives on an inevitable outcome, they should just let Russia do what they did in Crimea, which was pretty much bloodless.
Still: that man is a brave soldier and should be honored as such.

The main questions still remain, how long would it take for that insurgence to bring results, and it is clear 200K Russian Troops are WAY more than enough to conquer Ukraine so my question is what will he do with those troops once he occupies Ukraine?
Will those 200K soldiers be trying to stop protesters and armed insurgents?
There are 40+ MILLION Ukrainians and 1/5th of a million troops.
Even with just pistols, you can still die in Russian uniforms.
