The real problem with this whole affair is the word "student-athletes". Your entire system of letting barely literate jocks get a university degree merely because they can throw a rubber egg up a field is disgraceful. If Lia Thomas is good enough to get into university on her intellectual powers, she should do that; whether or not she also is an athlete should be completely irrelevant to anything.

There ya go. You don’t need to judge. You don’t have to question someone’s identity.
All you have to do is suggest a problem, check to see it actually is a problem and then see what sort of solutions present themselves.
While transwomen in sports is a muddy issue, that takes a backseat to the fact that trans-people are being accepted.
We can work out the details later but I applaud that in a time where people's rights are continually stripped away, especially the rights of women and minorities, this show of trans acceptance is a positive.
Let's celebrate the steps forward and work out the kinks later.
