The correct thing to do was for the USN to keep their discipline. If they didn't, we would have 3 badly damaged ships. Possibly 3 sunken ships. No sense starting a war on the enemies terms.

It's so lopsided that the USN actually tells the Iranians that they are going to sink them before they fire on them. It's the best part of the video. The quote is...
