Fulton county in Georgia has new laws allowing repubs to take over the vote count and replace the elected officials with their own goons to make the election go just how they want.
So that is the first county to lose democracy, soon to be followed all over the country.
I wonder if there will be a eulogy for the end of democracy in the US?
@sonhouse
The conservative base is steadily shrinking over time.
As is the white base.
All the current voter suppression tactics are starting to feel like squeezing water from a stone.
More desperate measures are required.
Remember ....... God has plans for America.
Can't let the will of the majority get in the way of that.
@sonhouse saidDidn't you say the US lost democracy when Hillary Clinton lost? Something about a Trump conspiracy with Russia collusion, right?

@metal-brain saidClose.

The Mueller investigation was launched to determine if Russia interfered in the 2016 election (the main question).
And if there was collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign (the secondary question).
The first question ? A solid yes.
The second question ? Not quite enough for an indictment.
And not worth putting America into a political crisis.
Collusion usually involves 2 relatively equal partners involved in a scheme.
I wouldn't describe Putin and Trump as equal.
But yes. Russia had their fingers all over the 2016 campaign.
@mghrn55 saidNope. The FBI fabricated evidence. Kevin Clinesmith plead guilty to altering email evidence. When evidence exists there is no need to fabricate it. Common sense.
Close.

Spygate is not a trivial matter.
Bill Binney said that Obama's CIA defrauded the American people by falsely leading them to believe that Russia had “hacked” the computers of two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party before feeding the information it obtained to Wikileaks and other organizations. Crowdstrike president admitted under oath there is no evidence of a DNC hack.

It was all a baseless conspiracy theory. A thoroughly debunked conspiracy theory.
@sonhouse saidIs this really so?

Because, if it is, it’s very bad doodoos for sure!
@sonhouse saidIt may not be quite that bad. The judicial branch has been a fairly reliable backstop against this type of nonsense, and I'm not convinced these new Georgia laws are going to pass legal muster in the courts.

@averagejoe1 saidYes, they are numbered. They're called Presidential terms (4 years)
Speaking of being sure, are you sure that Biden's days are numbered?
Any other questions? 😏
@AverageJoe1
I can only assume your fantasy is to cut Biden short by say 3 and a half years.
Hint: AINT GONNA HAPPEN.
