So let's suppose Al-Quaida starts hitting Iraq really hard as Obama (assume he's elected) starts pulling troops out? How do you respond to this? Freeze troop pullout? Ignore the violence and proceed?

why would they hit iraq as the us are pulling out? us troops pulling out is what they want.

They probably think the current Iraqi government is a puppet regime. In addition it will keep the US from 100% concentrating on Afghanistan.
