I hope this isn't the harbinger of the way of online sales. I think that would put a crimp on online sales and cause people to shy away from that in favor of back to a physical store, where one advantage is you have a better chance of finding someone who knows about what you are considering as a purchase. I said 'better' because I find a lot of dodo's at places like Radio Shack, now just a toy store, the people who work there, only maybe 1 in 10 knows a thing about what you want outside of how a cell phone works.

They pay a fee to the cc companies if you pay by cc. It's only logical that they would pass at least some of that on to you.

I doubt it's a $2 fee, though.

Doesn't the cc facility make the retailer more attractive and thus more able to get cc holders' business?

Well, it seems the common folk win this round, Verizon is eliminating the 2 dollar charge.

Yes, I'm sure it does. Otherwise they wouldn't do it.

But if the market will bear their recouping their cost by passing it on to the consumer, I don't see why they shouldn't.

Excellent. It was a business decision based on market factors and the taking it down also was a business decision based on market factors.

Bravo free market.
