My local MP steps down at next general election in the wake expenses scandal. He held a constituents meeting here last night and was heckled and handed a long petition to resign. David Cameron also told him to go as he was a liability to the Tory gambit to win the next election.

Good point. It looks like there are come-back clauses reading between the lines. He should go now and now be allowed to stand again.
