Today, as a result of political correctness, fear of litigation, and widespread (unfounded) fear of trace levels of chemicals, warning labels now serve the public in theory only. Because they're everywhere, these warnings have been rendered meaningless. We are all the worse for it.

You're getting your left-wing bogeymen mixed up. That's the nanny state, nothing to do with political correctness.

It's a result of frivolous lawsuits by stupid americans.

You'd do it in a second dude if some lawyer sucked you in for 40%. You got nothing to lose.

With over 950,000 lawyers in the United States alone the cause of many of our social woes is clear.

”When there are too many policemen, there can be no liberty.
When there are too many soldiers, there can be no peace.
When there are too many lawyers, there can be no justice.”

Lin Yutang (1895-1976), Chinese-American writer, translator, and editor.

Case in point, I've an inflatable air mattress. On the side there are warning printed in about a dozen languages. Every single one is a single sentence, except in English, where there are about 8 bullet points specifying "what not to do". In French, German, Italian, Spanish (and presumably the rest, I can't read Chinese or Greek, I don't have the right keyboard for babelfish) they all say soemthing to the effect of "use under competent supervision". Why that isn't sufficient for us anglophones begs an important question...

LOL, no, I just have one, it's for when I have mates staying over or anything. Not having the luxury of a guest bedroom, I wanted something I could shrinkwrap. Thankfully, my real bed only came with a warning label in one language, English. "Do not eat"... I $h1t you not.

Correct. And it's the politically correct liberals that oppose reform.

I love this one: http://www.germandeli.com/eifegewewe.html
"WARNING!!! THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT CHRISTMAS TREE CANDLES BE USED FOR DECORATION PURPOSES ONLY. THE CANDLES SHOULD NOT BE LIT AS THEY POSE A FIRE HAZARD." Candles that shouldn't be lit? In German, it says that you should remember not to leave the room while the candles are lit, and that you should always have a fire extinguisher close by.

It is the law in Germany that ALL GARAGES must have a sign up saying: 'danger of poisoning if car engine left running and garage door closed'.

Did the Jews get that law passed?
