The post that was quoted here has been removedBeing of Russian ancestry, Russia fascinates me as well. It wwill be interesting to see what happens with Putin, good ole KGB boy that he is. He suppose to give up power this year, he may leave office but somehow I suspect he and his entourage will still be holding the strings of power.
Time will tell.

Unless we in the West forget about possible energy inconvienence and stand up in the face of Putins beligerance, he will continue the path that all communist dictators have followed when they sense weakness. No Neville Chamberlain is needed at this time. It is imperative for the Russian people as well as ourselves.
Originally posted by RSMA1234Russian bomber flights are just business as usual. We've forgotten about it because they took a 15 vacation. It's not a sign of coming conflict. It's just how world military powers behave. Eventually China will make it 3 nations doing this stuff.

Is something going down or are people just depressed after the summer ?
The Syrian case might be interesting though. With Syria increasing the stick about the Golan and their insistence on meddling in Lebanon, I expect something to happen there sooner or later.
