Watching Trump walk back so many tariff "deals" lately makes walking stuff back look cool, huh?

He doesn't seem to pay much attention to the facts. I do re-call you saying you were 5'3.

I knew a Karate Instructor that was only 5'. Never heard about anyone beating him and many tried until word got around about him. He and I became good buddies.

I believe Putin plays Trump like a fiddle. Perhaps Trump is afraid of Putin? Might be some food for thought.

His tariff's are going to hurt Americans as much as Canadians and anyone else, he sure pulled back on his tariff's on China fast!! Depending on the day and mood is the direction he goes, worst American President in history and will be remembered as such.

I asked $25k for my car, negotiated and settled on price of $22,500. Applying your logic, was this a losing proposition for me, considering that any ‘seller’ knows going in that one never pays asking price?

Your truth
So having masked men with no ID and refusing to show ID's when arresting people INCLUDING US CITIZENS, has nothing to do with fear?
What planet do you come from again?

False equivalence.
Selling a car for X asking price and you actually sell for X-1 has ZERO consequences on the national scene.

Or the world scene or the Dow Jones or the chaos caused by this TACO.
His flip flops are NOT negotiations, they are capitulations and that makes him look WEAK here AND overseas.

The chaos caused by these flips, UP OR DOWN causes deep confusion with companies not having a clue as to whether an investment will work out so they stop the investments or slow them down.

THAT is not a good way to conduct business but Trump could care less, he says 'The WORD Tariff is BEAUTIFUL' when history has already shown how devastating they can be to the economy.

But because Trump doesn't even read Sunday COMICS much less history he doesn't understand the consequences of tariffs AT ALL.
AND he refuses to learn from past mistakes. AND still pushes the LIE that overseas companies pays the tariffs when in FACT is it US paying that tariff. OUR companies pay the tariff on say Aluminum, needed for just about EVERYTHING made in the US so that tariff tax spreads throughout our economy.
Trump could give a rats ass about ANY of that.
He even says he wants to kill the IRS and use tariffs to replace the money the IRS gives to the government which will NEVER work.

"Tariffs and the Great Depression
Economist Douglas A. Irwin assesses the impact of the Smoot-Hawley Act: in the two years following the imposition of the Smoot-Hawley tariff in June 1930, the volume of U.S. imports fell by over 40%. He shows that part of this collapse in trade is attributed to the tariff itself, and not to other factors such as falling incomes or foreign retaliation. Partial and general equilibrium evaluations indicate that the Smoot-Hawley tariff reduced imports by between 4% and 8% (ceteris paribus). In addition, a counterfactual simulation suggests that almost a quarter of the observed 40% drop in imports can be attributed to the increase in the effective tariff (i.e. Smoot-Hawley plus deflation).[60]

Irwin argues that while the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act was not the primary cause of the Great Depression, it contributed to its severity by provoking international retaliation and reducing global trade. The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act raised the average level of tariffs on dutiable imports by 15 to 18 percent. What mitigated the impact of Smoot-Hawley was the small size of the trade sector at the time. Only a third of total imports to the United States in 1930 were subject to duties, and those dutiable imports represented only 1.4 percent of GDP. According to Irwin, there is no evidence that the legislation achieved its goals of net job creation or economic recovery. Even from a Keynesian perspective, the policy was counterproductive, as the decline in exports exceeded the reduction in imports. While falling foreign incomes were a key factor in the collapse of U.S. exports, the tariff also limited foreign access to U.S. dollars, appreciating the currency and making American goods less competitive abroad. Irwin emphasizes that one of the most damaging consequences of the Act was the deterioration of the United States' trade relations with key partners. Enacted at a time when the League of Nations was seeking to implement a global "tariff truce", the Smoot-Hawley Tariff was widely perceived as a unilateral and hostile move, undermining international cooperation. In his assessment, the most significant long-term impact was that the resentment it generated encouraged other countries to form discriminatory trading blocs. These preferential arrangements, diverted trade away from the United States and hindered the global economic recovery"

Your first paragraph exhibits your failure to recognize a simple point.......if someone is negotiating, they know that they will have to haggle, Sonhouse. I want to sell my Vietmanese Pig to a farmer, I want a certain price, he wants to pay a lower price. Well, I'll be darned, the chinee want to pay a lower price, like the farmer. Do you follow so far? You can take it from there, but if we do the deal, we BOTH are successful. uhhh, do you still follow? That should wrap this discussion up, and....I win it.

Oh....'Look weak here and overseas??" To you maybe. I dont thiiiiinnnnkk he looks weak overseas in kick-ass mode. He knew, for instance, the 135% tariff was a tool to wave at the chinee......and they did too.
I recommend you read Trump's Art of the Deal.

I saw that the rest of your post has nothing to do with this, which is about tacos. I am actually having two for lunch. If it is about Trump, Sonhouse..............follow me here............................this issue is not about Trump. It is about the concept of negotiating, when making a deal. On the international scene, any country leader vs another country leader. Haggling, Sonhouse. Are you daft? Or a sheep following all your tightly woven forum friends around?

And YOU can't figure out the difference between 'negotiation' and REACTION.
You CALL it negotiation BECAUSE your Lord Trump CALLED IT negotiation, which simply hides the fact he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and it is also obvious you didn't read the last part of my post about how they found out nearly 100 years ago just how bad tariffs are in reality. Tariff wars = LESS TRADE and less jobs and smaller economy.
Trump will NEVER understand that and because your brain is jammed into Trumps head YOU will never understand that either.
