Should billionaires who don't pay taxes be allowed to vote?

Welfare, It needs a complete overhaul. Too many worthless trash are drawing welfare, which are more than able to work.

@vivify
It wouldn't make much difference politically if that were to happen since they can pump money into the candidate of their choice so their power to make things happen would not change one iota.

Interestingly this is how it was in NZ, when elections were first held in NZ. Only men and only men that held a certain amount of property could vote. Maori land (pronounced 'marry' ) tended to be communally held so the goobermint of the day bought in 4 race based seats, that is 4 marry* (phonetic spelling of Maori) seats.

A bit later the land holding requirement was relinquished and it was at that time the race based seats should have been abandoned. NZ was the first country to grant women the vote and it is to our great shame the race based seats remain today going through many iterations.

Of course if you have racist electorates you need a race classification system (an on going point of contention for the boards racists; No1, suzi, kev and others) and the NZ system of race classification went through many changes, at one time it was determined as a percentage with the 50/50 people in the middle free to opt for one or the other.

Power only to the feudal lords. Yeah, that's been tried. Problem is, that sort of system provides fertile soil for endless violent uprisings that inevitably escalate to a successful revolution complete with gallows and guillotines. Oh well.

Of course this never happened in NZ and the transition was peaceful and smooth.

And why is that, do you imagine? More to the point, why do you think the transition occurred? Must be because that's what folks wanted.

Now, as a rule, revolutions occur when folks are denied what they want for too long, and have no options for redress within the established system.

Something to ponder, hmm?

It's in recognition of my blue collar roots. I was a welder at the time of signing up to RHP. Now, what my employer refers to as a 'shiny bum', polishing up the seat of my trousers on an office chair.

A more apt analogy; the lens filter cuts out the harmful collectivist rays and reveals the bright light of truth. So that the molten pool of rugged individualism may solidify, strength, reliability, durability.

While we're on masks, don't bother wearing a stupid rag under your welding helmet, as against the wuflu they're a complete, utter, total waste of time.
