Is it just me or is it a little strange that "W" just off and disappeared. In fact, other than to blame his admiinistration for something, and rightly so, we don't hear anything about the man. So what say you? What happened to one of the most failed administrations of all time?
1. Nothing. He is really Obama with an afro who is now using steroieds.
2. He went into the witness protection program chaning both his name and facial features.
3. He now stocks shelves at his local Kroger store.
4. He finally decided to do something about illegal immigration and spends his days roaming the border with a rifle.
Feel free to add your own.

a bit of a stretch there whodey. How do you figure that?
Ten accomplishments of GW Bush Presidency.
1.His decision in 2001 to jettison the Kyoto global warming treaty so loved by Al Gore, the environmental lobby, elite opinion, and Europeans. The treaty was a disaster, with India and China exempted and economic decline the certain result. Everyone knew it. But only Bush said so and acted accordingly.
2. Enhanced interrogation of terrorists. Along with use of secret prisons and wireless eavesdropping, this saved American lives. How many thousands of lives? We'll never know. This is what kept us safe and which have prevented a second attack.
3.Rebuilding of presidential authority, badly degraded in the era of Vietnam, Watergate, and Bill Clinton. He didn't hesitate to conduct wireless surveillance of terrorists without getting a federal judge's okay. He decided on his own how to treat terrorists and where they should be imprisoned. Those were legitimate decisions for which the president, as commander in chief, should feel no need to apologize.
4. Unswerving support for Israel. Reagan was once deemed Israel's best friend in the White House. Now Bush can claim the title.
5. No Child Left Behind (NCLB), the education reform bill
6.Bush declared in his second inaugural address in 2005 that American foreign policy (at least his) would henceforth focus on promoting democracy around the world.
7. Medicare prescription drug benefit, enacted in 2003.
8. Putting John Roberts and Sam Alito on the Supreme Court and naming Roberts chief justice, Bush achieved what had eluded Richard Nixon, Reagan, and his own father. Roberts and Alito made the Court indisputably more conservative. And the good news is Roberts, 53, and Alito, 58, should be justices for decades to come.
9. He strengthened relations with east Asian democracies (Japan, South Korea, Australia) without causing a rift with China. On top of that, he forged strong ties with India.
10. "The surge". Bush prompted nearly unanimous disapproval in January 2007 when he announced he was sending more troops to Iraq and adopting a new counterinsurgency strategy. His opponents initially included the State Department, the Pentagon, most of Congress, the media, the foreign policy establishment, indeed the whole world. This makes his decision a profile in courage. Best of all, the surge worked. Iraq is now a fragile but functioning democracy.
Originally posted by utherpendragonAlmost all of these things (military expansion, interrogation, increased domestic surveillance, no child left behind, medicare expansion, etc) were things that expanded the State and hence the power of the Statists.

Agreed, it saved lives, but on the other hand, this can be summarized as being a long, painful, and continuous rape of the very principles america has been trying to export for all these years. Not to mention Bush lied about torture.
4. Unswerving support for Israel. Reagan was once deemed Israel's best friend in the White House. Now Bush can claim the title
In addition to that he can also claim the title of the Devil's best friend and palestinians' worst oppressor. how wonderful.
As for the rest, you've made some fine points.

as I have stated many time before ,I am not a Republican nor a die hard Bush supporter. I think he dropped the ball concerning the Southern boarder as well as other things. But to say he is the worst President? Nah!
Andrew Johnson , James Buchanan, Warren G. Harding, Franklin Pierce, and Jimmy Carter are a few examples of worst Presidents in my opinion.
Originally posted by utherpendragonYes, it would be inaccurate to claim he was the "worst of all", but notice whodey only said his administration was "one of the worst", not "the worst".

I don't see why a compliment from me to you would be strange, I believe we agree on most things (at least on certain principles).
Two disastrous wars, the worst economy since the Great Depression, the country a disgraced pariah in international affairs due to its use of torture and not one single bit of progress on important global issues.
Was he as bad as Harding? Probably.
EDIT: I almost forgot; unsustainable unfair tax cuts for the wealthy coupled with reckless, wasteful spending that ballooned the deficit while still failing to produce economic prosperity.

2 and 3. The whole Patriot Act is and was a chilling reminder of how our personal rights can be violed in the name of keeping us "safe". The question is not just a matter of keeping us safe, rather, the question is what is the price and is that price worth it?
5. How did the NCLB reform bill improve education? In fact, why is the President of the United States saying anything about how my child is educated? Sorry, but the whole notion that the President of the United States should be in charge of our children education makes as much sense as him telling us what doctors to have.
6. Democracy around the world? How has that worked out for the US after being trillions of dollars in the hole and coutless lives lost? In fact, the greatest threat to the Republic is now the debt that this clown drove up with wars and entitlements.
7. I can't believe you listed this as an accomplishment. In fact, this entitlement program rivaled those of the Great Society. Obama even jokes about not knowing how to pay for them. This legislation as well as the wars he carelessly started over seas are the very reasons that his clone Obama came to power and took back Congress. In short, both "W" and Obama have done more damage to the union, and continue to do so, than any two presidents in history.
8. This brings to mind one of the failed nominations to the Supreme Court. What was her name? Anyway, he had no business trying to appoint her and it is a good thing she was shot down.
9. So was it worth taking Iraq? Has "the surge" saved the endevour? In fact, arguably "W" should have gone into Iran instead of Iraq. After all, Iran is the source of the fighting in Iraq in large measure and is known to be working on WMD's.
