I'm not qualified to go into decisions of war in those days, but if Hitler was doing what he was doing, I think Trump would have moved a lot quicker than FDR,.... he would have decided to Bomb Japan while he was playing golf, and bomb other places where humans were in harm's way. Kill them all, in other words. I know liberal posters do not like the idea of killing the enemy, I have no problem with that logic, myself. After that, the world would no longer have been at war, and his smarts and abilities would have lead us into tremendous prosperity. Independence, self-reliance, derring-do, that sort of thing.
Next question, what would a Biden have done as president instead of FDR? Throw Kamala and AOC in, to spice up you answer. I think we would be Venezuela, myself. And not a sweet little happy country like the aforementioned Denmark. Lord,, please deliver me from such!!!!

There would be mass riots from socialists and a risk of civil war. Why do you think they had FDR give concessions to the socialists with needed social programs? It was to avoid a socialist revolution.

The establishment was forced to make concessions. If the real threat of a socialist revolution was not there it would not have happened. It was either that or Marxism so they made the choice they could live with.

If there would be such riots, I would prefer Donald Trump above anyone I can think of to be in charge...certainly not Kamala Harris, who is in charge. Trump would put down such riots. Thus avoiding the revolution. Marxists? They would not have even come close. They would have to go to work!!! Be Independent, self-reliant, all that stuff.

Let's suppose that FDR had died and Donald Trump had become US President in 1933 or 1937 and then become a de facto dictator.

America would still be in the middle of the great depression 90 years later. Donald J Trump couldn't manage to run a lemonade stand without driving it into bankruptcy.

This premise is without basis, has no legs. This country is set up in a way that a dictator could hardly arise and take over. Anyway,, our citizens are smarter, including street smarts, than countries where its loser citizenry would allow it to happen.

You don't understand history. Examine the polls of the socialist and communist parties at that time in the USA. It was popular back then. Your assertion is ridiculous. The capitalist were genuinely fearful of them. They had to compromise. They had no choice.

Maybe a more interesting question ......what would our country be like if the socialist/and-or/communist parties had prevailed???

Hold on, Duchess. The govt (Trump, Obama, whomever) does bailouts in time of crisis. But it has to be a crisis. This stimulus is Ok, it is due to a crisis. Some posters here think it should go on 24/7, that Wang presidential candidate is still in the picture wanting to give Guarnteed Income to all citizens. Uhhh, aint NO way Trump would do THAT new deal.
I dont get your meaning that Trump would say economy wonderful. His WAS wonderful, if that is your meaning. Doubt he would have said it in FDR times, though, he would have told everyone to get off their ass and go to work, and invented his own stimulus program> I say, it would have worked.
