@Suzianne saidInteresting, yet very selective group.
"The mission of The Episcopal Church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer’s catechism, is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.” In step with that mission, we follow Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth."
Why is this important to you?
@mike69 saidAre you insane? Reverend Budde called Trump out for what he is doing and plans to do. She merely asked for mercy. You do remember mercy?
No, I think everyone saw the point of what your church stands for and ignores along with its followers.
This is what Budde said to Trump in her sermon.
You tell me what is wrong with it? How does it go against Christian values as you suggest?
“Let me make one final plea, Mr. President. Millions have put their trust in you and, as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives. The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings; who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants; who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals. They…may not be citizens or have the proper documentation. But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, gurudwaras and temples. I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away. And that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here. Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger, for we were all once strangers in this land. May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love and walk humbly with each other and our God for the good of all people. Good of all people in this nation and the world. Amen”
She's absolutely correct.
Ever hear of the Good Samaritan? Neither have most so-called "Christians".

“Leviticus 20:13
New Living Translation
13 “If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.”
this is what she should be concerned with…
“Psalm 139:13,15,16 – You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. … My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
@AverageJoe1 saidSo Trump was in on the MONTHS of negotiations? The hostages were being released BEFORE Trump became 'shudder' our president. Pardon me while I puke.
There is absolutely no doubt that the hostages are going to be released on the day before Trump takes office, all because of Trump. It is all about Trump. Not that damn old man who we cannot wait to get rid of it. I am sorry that he preached to my country men about being scared And worrying. Wait till you hear Donald’s words, he will’ preach ‘catch the train.’ Train 47.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidSo god did not make gay people? Oh, the DEVIL inserted gay genes into those folk. Why didn't I figure THAT one out.

Why then are there in every generation for thousands of years some 2 or 3% of ALL folks from all cultures are gay.
I guess the devil has been working overtime.
@Suzianne saidThat was an activist not a reverend, and a poor one at that. It was 4000 people by invite only to listen and learn of God, a formality, not a stage for her to spew her personal opinions. She overlooked much from the other side of the coin like supporting children’s safety and not blocking puberty and sterilizing our children or the people raped and killed by illegal immigrants and other crimes, so much to list but you get the point. How do you overlook God created man and woman not hundreds of sexes, how do you rationalize that?

And I don't know if you got the news, but I am Christian, not a Jew, and so Mosaic laws do not apply. There was this man named Jesus. Ever hear of him?
@mike69 saidShe is a bishop in my church, duly ordained.

Are you so without sin that you are qualified to throw stones at this woman of God?
All those decisions are tough decisions made every day by normal people. Who did Jesus visit and spend time with? Only the "holy"? Who are you that you can deny your brothers?
As Christians, we are charged by Christ to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Yet you are so busy collecting stones that you are blind to your own hypocrisy. Please don't try to gaslight me that deporting your brothers, removing them from their lives, their jobs and their families is showing love for them.
Did you even read what she said? What did she say that deserved such vitriol from sinners like you?
Jesus will say he never knew you.
@Suzianne saidGreat non answer, your trying to create God in your twisted image not working on and recognizing your sins listed in the Bible to change yourself to be more like Gods will and direction for your life and happiness. God created man and woman do you think he made a mistake so your fake church is correcting him. There is so much more in the Bible you ignore. I’m not perfect at all, I am a sinner and making mistakes here with an instant temper yet I realize this and am working on it, not creating God to fit my image.

Why do you let Trump keep you from God's will? You follow a man, not God.
@Suzianne saidIm not judging you, those are facts in Christianity, in the Bible. I have no hate for anyone but care very much about your group changing Gods will and word for your own beliefs and sexual needs. You’re living in the flesh and somehow rationalizing it the fact you can’t see it is very sad.
