What about betting Iran can knock out the REST of Saudi oil fields anytime they want. And start bombing oil tankers and the like, loading up the straits of Hormuz with the rusted bodies of cargo ships.
Just for starters. Of course Trump could use the nuclear option, he already brought that one up.

Trump has already rejected the Bolton policy of taking out entire countries by firing him.
In addition, the response needs to be a measured response. In other words, Iran was careful not to attack the US directly and in a limited fashion. My guess is that Trump will gather a coalition and then maybe take out some of Iran's oil fields and call it a day.
Iran is simply trying to drive up oil prices to help its ailing economy due to severe sanctions.

To me, if I were to bet on it, I say - yes, Trump will be roundly outnumbered and the US is going to do Israel's bidding.

This is true, and even if the USA could do this, the vast majority of Americans are very much opposed to sending additional troops into the middle east. George W Bush's "send in the marines" policies have been wasteful and destructive.
