It also seems not to jive with the 2 years old ruling (same court) that colleges can't use race in admissions. Justice Roberts wrote "eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it." They provided lots and lots of other reasoning in that case but don't think that is needed for arrest and detainment of people?
Racial and ethnic discrimination is unconstitutional, but seizing someone off the streets based on race or ethnicity is ok. Make it make sense.

My guess is that they want to eliminate the entire Fourteenth Amendment and have decided their best way to do that is to rule against it piecemeal.
They've already shredded the Due Process Clause, Trump is working on shredding the Citizenship Clause and now the Equal Protection Clause is getting shredded. And after these are gone, it means that the Privileges or Immunities Clause is naturally gone as well.
Add to this Section Three getting the axe first, allowing insurrectionist Trump to run for a second term, we're seeing, in real time, the slow degradation of the US Constitution, which is probably necessary before Trump declares himself Emperor of the United States. Remember, this has only been possible due to Trump getting three Supreme Court picks in a row. This is Mitch McConnell's fault almost entirely.

They flipped the whole thing. Now if it's ok for law enforcement to discriminate based on skin color, why isn't it ok for college administrators to prioritize applicants based on race/ethnicity/background?
