I had a different link to this which I have lost which showed screen shots.
So SP showed an animated Mohammed years ago and there were no complaints?

Oh, wait- they were having a go at Catholics. So that's ok, then. Carry on.
(Doubt we'll see Fatima's menstrual blood, or Mohammed's colonic irrigation any time soon- that would take actual courage, as well as the stupity the can display, like in the above example. Insulting Catholics and Christians carries no consequences or threats of retribution)
I like SP. Sometimes I think they go out of their way to offend- but they tend to be rather conservative in their choices of whom they try to offend. Haven't seen this episode, but it sounds obscene, blaphemous, and something attempting to ridicule the Catholic faith.
My reaction as a Catholic: my esteem for the program drops a notch. However, I'll defend their right to be crass, insulting, vulgar, obtuse, anything they want. It seems to have done their ratings no harm. But personally, I'd most likely switch off. Is the Faith compromised, or damaged somehow by this rubbish:
purleese!!
As that article, no fuss- just disappointment. SP has some great episodes. This sounds like a fairly poor one, and a boring attempt to court controversy.
When will they have the courage to treat Islam in that way? That's another question. If we were being evenhanded, then they should do it soon. However, I find that unlikely. Not that I'd want to see it, either. But do the really need to mock anybody's faith? What's the satirical point? Bah.

Funny how our muslim friends have completely overlooked this.
It seems their ignorance has no bounds.
