Here's me thinking that heard earned tax dollars of my American comrades gets wasted on weapons, government and supporting crack-pot regimes all over the globe, instead of being put to good use on such "unimportant" matters as health, education and diets.

Then suddenly I stumble across this little gem:

The NSA.
38.000 people work in secrecy there and the whole charade costs 40 billion dollars a year!!! A bloody year!!!

And what does this super secret agency do? Listen to you!
Besides the fact that anybody listening to my average telephone conversation is bound to either end up with an erection or a notion for suicide, even when they do record important things (like Osama Bin Laden's messages), they still can't do much with it....

Sounds like an excellent use of resources to me.

right now i believe a lot of it is going towards rebuilding the destroyed city of New Orlean. or at least thats what i tell myself to make me feel better when i see my paycheck

Now, Shav, if the BBC "knows" that 38,000 people work in secrecy at NSA and it costs $40 billion a year then how can these people be working in secrecy?

The part I hate the most about them, if someone fingers you,
