Political TV talking heads on the right and the left like to nit pick every little detail of the upcoming election, I guess that's there job. Frankly I doubt much will change in the next 4-5 years however. Obama looks like he's headed for a 2nd term, and Americans will go to the polls and elect a divided government. Both sides will contnue to blame the other for this sluggish recovery, and the talking heads will keep on talking. By 2016 I predict the unemployment rate will be in the 6.5-7% range, the housing market will begin to show some real signs of rebounding, and our massive federal deficit will, at last, begin to shrink. Not suprisingly, both sides will claim full credit for this modest recovery.

So...what do we do in the meantime? I think we should begin by understanding that boom times will not return for quite awhile, and we must all face the fact that we all must work harder, and longer to achieve the same income and financial security as before. This is a wake up call to myself as much as anyone else. With that in mind, time to get back to work... 😏

I am more optimistic. I agree that now most of us must work harder and longer than before to earn the same income. I know that is the case for me personally. Yet, I do not think it a foregone conclusion it will be that way for decades.

As for immediate poltics, I think the President will be more agressive after his re-election, which will be good for America.

What's next, a $20 trillion stimulus and a military takeover of the world?

We may could survive without another stimulus, but I hope we get one and it be bigger and better directed than the last one. The President has ideas about using such a stimulus to build massive infrastructure, such as was done to provide jobs to help exit the Great Depression, and with such infrastructure contributing to America's economic growth and productivity for decades.

As for military takeovers, at most the President would generally support is strategic participation in two or three places in the world, and only if it is in America's interest. As for Iran specifically, it will come down to the nuclear issue in my opinion. While tired of war and generally against war including the economic costs, the vast majority of Americans will want conflict if needed to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Remember the crowd boos for Ron Paul in the debates for regarding that issue. And Democrats can also be hawkish when it comes to preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

In all, President Obama is not interested in taking over the world via war. He knows that would be impossible and bad for American in so many ways. Again, at most the President would likely support is strategic participation in two or three places in the world, and only if it is in America's interest. Really a fecetious comments to imply he would want a military takeover of the world.
