I think it would be fair to adjust the number of Senators from each state so that we have more proportional representation in the upper chamber.

"proportional representation" is the whole point of the House. The Senate gives each state equal say so that no state lacks a voice in government.

Sure, BUT, this system was invented when we didn't have so many sparsely populated flyover states.
