Christianity is not at all like Islam, regardless of how much you try to equate them so that Muslims will feel better. Islam clearly states that infidels, unbelievers and apostates should by killed. It suggests that Jews should also be killed or taxed if living in an Islamic state. The entire religion is nonsense. There are several Islamic states right now that are persecuting and killing Christians, and persecuting non Muslims.
Iran prior to this current regime was under the Shah, which was a secular state and pro-west. There was no Islamic influence and the population was happy and settled. It went from that to an extremist state where on a daily basis people are executed for petty nonsensical offences and women can be shot for exposing their hair.
