A few points
1) I’m not sure if a single person refusing to pay tax will make the American government fall (it would be nice if it did though). If you decide on the extreme path then I recon you need to go for maximum impact get as many people as possible to refuse to pay the more the better. Also you could try and get the media involved. These are just ideas here change them and use them as you see necessary. I haven’t really thought this through this is coming off the top of my head.
2) Taxes go to other things such as education and healthcare (I am however not an American so this is not my problem)
3) If you decide to defy the government do all you can to do it.
4) Good luck.

I have the same problems here in Holland. I'm all for paying taxes if they get spent on people who need it, education for kids, health for the nation, etc.
But here the health service is being completely privatised, our tax is spent on building aircraft and bombs used for bombing little villages in third world nations and for tax deduction for home owners.
HELLOOOOOO!!!!!!
No fcuking wonder I wake up every morning praying to Gods I don't believe in to start a world nuclear war and wipe the human virus from the face of the bloody planet.
Jees I hate us.
Well i recon there might be a good answer to all this. Get a group of friends/like minded people find some land declare your self a seprate country stop paying taxes, start growing your own food, make chess the national sport, and some other policys that suit you. It would be hard and if you changed your mind there might be some problems but...well may as well give it a try
I can see that you have every right to be annoyed at them and that some of the money you pay in taxes is going where you(and many others) don't want it to go.
The question that i have to ask now, is do you think all the money you pay in taxes goes to sources you do not agree with? If the answer here is yes then i have no problem with you stoping paying your tax
But what you may think is some of the money goes to unethical sources and some goes to sources that you agree with, for example if you stop paying you tax then what of the loss of money to heathcare and education(although you may not have kids others do) i think everyone has the right to those two services and by you refusing to pay your tax you are effectively refusing to admit everyone has the right to them. Also if you stop paying your tax and you get hit by a bus(i hope your not) would you expect a health service that you do not contribute to to help you?
All this is just my veiw and there are things im not to sure of as i am not american but i don't think this changes anything

Well, I gotta tell ya, I see the larger benefit to public education - of course, in the abstract. In reality, public education is in a pretty sorry state. But really - to the tune of $4600 a year?
I went to a state university, which was partially subsidized by taxpayer money. So I can't really object to that part. But every single day, it seem ...[text shortened]... holes in public office taking bribes because some of my money also goes to good things. No way.
Good luck and one more question do you think stoping paying your taxes is enough to fight this?
