In 1992 Bill Clinton said. "Getting Democrats to agree on a course of action is like herding cats" this was just as true then as it is now, Democrats aren't a very cohesive bunch, fortunately they won't have to be this time around. There are 2 reasons the Democrats will win in 2020:
1. Donald Trump needs someone to vilify, because of this he has made no effort to reach out to Democratic voters and expand his base beyond the 35-40 percent group he has now. It wasn't enough in 2018 and it won't be enough in 2020.
2. Trump and his supporters are blind to their own faults. If any other President, Democrat or Republican had given away America's top secret intel. to high ranking Russians (right in the oval office of all places!) Lied about Mexico paying for a border wall, fathered 5 kids by 3 different women, jumped into bed with porn stars and playmates, then hired his lawyer to pay them hush money, failed to release their tax returns (just to name a few things) that person wouldn't be working at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave very long. Confront Trump or his supporters about this, and all they do is complain about the Democrats, and engage in childish name calling. This won't work. Independent and swing voters are the folks who decide elections, and most of those folks are not very happy with this behavior, and won't vote for Trump in 2020..
So don't get discouraged Democrats, you won't have to run your best candidate in order to win. Most of those in Trump's inner circle privately admit their chances of victory in 2020 are dim.
