Trump alienated his republican base and angered them. After he said it was not about regime change he posted on truth social later the same day that he wanted regime change. 3 out of 4 Americans do not want war with Iran. He had to abandon regime change after flip flopping on it and now he has to do what he never wanted to do.......ease sanctions on Iran.
He could have just went back to the nuclear deal Obama made before he ended it. Trump is a huge loser.

Democrats are less than half of the House and the Senate.
In Trump's first term, Democrats controlled the House and thus were able to get Trump impeached twice. Not that it did much good, the man is shameless and due to Republican control of the Senate, the vote to remove went nowhere. Today, despite no one liking Trump, the Republican zombies would vote against impeachment. Even if it went through on a miracle, the Trump cult in the Senate would simply vote against removal, just like the last two times. Why waste time on an unlikely Hail Mary play? Better to hold off until after the midterms, when hatred for Trump's attempted ruination of America could result in the Republicans losing both Houses, and if that happens, it's all hands on deck, baby, to get the man-child sent back to Mar-a-Lago permanently.
Wasting time right now on a stupid wasted effort would be no good for anybody, especially the Democrats. Best to bide our time and wait for an opening we can run with.
