By the way Sas, between the two of us, haven't you noticed the relative silence in countries like Egypt, Jordan, Saudi-Arabia and other Sunni-countries ?

If some Danish newspaper publishes some silly cartoon about the Prophet, they start rioting and burning embassies in those countries ..... but now ...... silence so far ....

I bet a lot of those countries's governments secretly hope for Israel to succeed in destroying the Iranian backed Hezbollah. They are more afraid of the Shiite atomic bomb than they are of the Israeli bomb ........

Well, the Saudi king spoke out today, and blamed Hezbollah for "allowing Israel to exploit the situation to kill our Arab brothers", or something like that. Yes, I am surprised at Egypt, Jordan, UAE, and I said this earlier today. I think one thing everybody agrees on is that Ahmadenijad needs to take a dirt nap.
Even the Lebanese Prime-Minister said Hezbollah made "a tactical mistake" by kidnapping these soldiers and firing missiles at Israel. They're not stupid these Sunnis. Is there still hope, Sas ? Whaddaya think ?

They also receive massive support, in particular financial aid and military equipment from Iran. Hezbollah, Syria and Iran are close allies. Without Iran and Syria Hezbollah would be nothing but a name.

It's just that I always saw you as some sort of patrician Dutch Catholic.

Now I'm thinking you are the reincarnation of Moshe Dayan.

Actually Saudi Arabia and UAE are providing around $90 million in aid to Lebannon and Kuwait denounced Israel's "Barbaric Agression". Could make for interesting times...

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE to aid Lebanon
Monday Jul 17 07:43 AEST
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have pledged $US90 million ($A120 million) to help Lebanon after its prime minister said Israeli attacks turned the country into a disaster area.

Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said Beirut needed a comprehensive plan to rush aid into the country.

The official Saudi Press Agency said King Abdullah ordered the immediate transfer of $US50 million ($A66.4 million) "for the (Lebanese) prime minister to spend on emergency aid and basic services to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people".

The cabinet of fellow Gulf Arab oil exporter Kuwait allocated $US20 million ($A26 million) "to provide urgent aid to brothers in Lebanon to help them in the face of this barbaric aggression and ease their suffering", according to the state media.

The Hafia missiles were Iranian with Syrian warheads.

I know of at least one former U.S. President that will be right there with them:

Clinton says he would have died for Israel

By Khalid Hasan

WASHINGTON: Former US President Bill Clinton who many Arab thoughts (sic) was more even-handed on the Palestine question than his predecessors shocked many when he asserted in Toronto last week that had Israel been attacked by Iraq or Iran during his presidency, he would have been ready to “grab a rifle, get in a ditch and fight and die.”

“The Israelis know that if the Iraqi or the Iranian army came across the Jordan River, I would personally grab a rifle, get in a ditch, and fight and die,” Clinton told the crowd at a fund-raising event for a Toronto Jewish charity Monday.

I'm sure they'll call you if they need you, Bill.
