Only the congress can move the date.
I know you haters like portraying Trump in an evil way, that is your wont. But try to get another dream.

From the NYT:

"The date of the general election is set by federal law and has been fixed since 1845. It would take a change in federal law to move that date. That would mean legislation enacted by Congress, signed by the president and subject to challenge in the courts.

To call that unlikely would be an understatement.

And even if all of that happened, there would not be much flexibility in choosing an alternate election date: The Constitution mandates that the new Congress must be sworn in on Jan. 3, and that the new president’s term must begin on Jan. 20. Those dates cannot be changed just by the passage of normal legislation."

"Can the president cancel or postpone an election with an executive order?

No. The president has a lot of power, but when it comes to elections he is far more constrained than the governor of Louisiana.[The article explains the procedure for postponing elections in Louisiana- no1]".

This means nothing. This is unprecedented times. The decisions will be made by the president and the SCOTUS.

Trust me, they will have the election even if the 4 horsemen themselves come riding on their horses with their death and destruction.

We may not be able to go to a restaurant, or to a ball game, or even go to church, and perhaps soon not even be able to leave our homes, but the state will bend over backward to remove Donald Trump and let people show up in large crowds to vote to get him out.

You really do want a dictatorship, don't you?

I doubt very many people share your view that the Constitution and federal law "means nothing".

Actually, a lot of States are working on plans to have voting by mail.

Right wingers are showing more and more desperation at the likelihood of Trump's defeat as well as the increasing probability of a Democratic House and Senate.

People like myself want a dictatorship?

Really?

Tell us, what Mike Bloomberg right about China not being a dictatorship? That is bone chilling to think someone who had the ability to run for the democrat nomination thinks so.

Was Fidel Castro and Chavez a dictator? I've heard Bernie Sanders sing their praises before, yet, I've never heard him say one good thing about Trump.

And why is it that those on the Left are continuing to petition for more state power, telling us that the state needs to round up all our guns, telling us that we need to give more of our hard earned money to government and trust the social government nets to save us when we run out of money, or telling us we eat too much meat or drive too big of a car or have too big of a house, and in the next breath, tell us that Trump (who runs the state they want to empower), is Hitler.

Stop smoking pot damn it!

Would you agree that a President unilaterally cancelling an election (as Mott says he has the power to do) would make the country a "dictatorship"?

Try answering that question without your usual brainless propaganda.

We already have a dictatorship. We have had one for several Presidents now.

Oh and the Constitution does mean nothing.

The election is 8 months away!
If this virus is still going around by then society will just accept it as part of life and deal with it.
Most likely a vaccine will be made or all the old people die off.
The election will happen!
I can't wait for the funny Biden gaffes.
He will be the funniest president ever and he won't even know he is being funny!

And unfortunately for US, unpresidented times.
