...or you can believe the truth
That’s precisely what President Trump’s policies have done. His First Step Act, in particular, is bringing Black men back home, where they can put newly learned job skills to good use, reconnect with their families and rebuild their communities.
The First Step Act corrected many of the injustices of the Clinton Crime Bill and others (including ones authored by then-Sen. Joe Biden), injustices that disproportionately affected Black men, such as the 100-to-1 crack cocaine disparity.

@mott-the-hoople saidNo. If you truly want to help them, let them be able to vote.
had you rather they be locked up?
@mott-the-hoople saidIs that the choice to be placed in front of them ?
had you rather they be locked up?
Get with the program without the vote, or be locked up ??
Yup. You’re deplorable.

they have the ability to vote
"Florida felons must pay all fines, restitution and legal fees before they can regain their right to vote".
In your OP you acknowledge those leaving prison are need of learning job skills. So why make them have to pay heavy fines and fees in order to vote?
Red states are keeping blacks like the ones in your OP from voting.
@vivify saidthey are out of prison and can eventually pay their fines/restitution and be able to vote because of Trumps actions.

Under clinton/biden bills they would have remained locked up with no hope of freedom much less voting rights.
Which had you rather have?
@mott-the-hoople saidSee Florida, Louisiana and other red states.
I dont think being released from being locked away is “lip service”.
@mott-the-hoople saidThat's not accurate at all.

This isn't Trump's idea, it was introduced in 2015 before Trump's election. Secondly, the bill was killed thanks to conservatives like Tom Cotton and Jeff Sessions. The Bill was revived later and eventually passed thanks to *bi-partisan* efforts.
