Just a suggestion , but if everyone is that concerned in the site being
made corperate ... Then buy a T-Shirt , Or a Mug. It may keep the
site going for a couple more months , maybe enough time for
Chrismo & Russ to find a cheaper place to host this site .. or to find a
corperate sponser.. Just an idea.

Unfortunately, and really to our suprise, the kick-backs from book
sales has been quite low. Well - let's be honest - we have received
approximately $25 since Feb 2001 !! We do get $2 or $3 from the
sale of mugs and tee-shirts, but again, this amounts to about $45
since Christmas!

I look around at other websites and wonder how they manage to
support themselves - it's becoming a real mystery...!!

Well i know i dont use the bandwith , or disc space you do , i dont know how
much you use.

But i am sure that there may be another host out there that would be able to
accomadate you for a lower cost.

If i may offer my spare time , if you tell me you current requirements for RHP &
say predicted requirements i may be able to search round the net for a cheaper
solution for you.

How do the kick backs work?
Is it that only a few people have surfed from RHP to Amazon and
bought a book, so you haven't made much?

Or is it that you only get a very small sum? Is it a flat rate per hit, or
a percentage of sales generated?

I think we get 5%. And we've sold fewer than 10 books I think!!

Hmm, 5% isn't too bad, it's the 10 books that's a problem.
i was looking for the link and can't find it anymore. Did it disappear?

finally, do you get a percentage of all Amazon sales generated from your site, or only the specific
items you list. The reason I ask is that I do occasionally buy rather expensive (non chess!) items
and books (monographs on the "developmental biology of drosophila melanogaster" and other
total geek things I get to buy tend to be pricey) via Amazon and I'd be more than happy to get to
amazon via RHP if that would generate a few bucks for you. Let me know.

Also, as a general rule, be more SHAMELESSLY willing to troll for revenue on this site; its a great
site and you deserve to AT LEAST break even. Actually you deserve to make a handsome (or ugly!
if you don't like capitalism) profit, it's a great site.

Have you considered incorporating and selling chares? I would be
interested is owning a piece of Red Hot Pawn. Just big enought so I
can continue to play with you guys at the helm.
John
PS: Last time I checked there were 133 Pawn Stars and I know more
than 4000 people have logged into the site.
Anyone else willing to follow and become a share holder for let's say
$100 a share. Let Tom Chriss and Russ know by voting yes to this
post. OH! Share Holders should have a Silver Star. Just had to add
that.

Platinum Star
And I'm there. I'd buy in.
I'd be happy if they switched pawnstar status to a annual fee.
