This denial comes as a total surprise, since others have used the vocative in public (and private forums)

without causing denial or umbrage. Why the objection now? What are you hiding from? - Grampy Bobby
Now? Since I first came here I never shared my name in public, and anyone who DID know my name I asked them to not use it in public.

Why? That's not your business. The TOS protects my right to privacy if you have more questions.

If I ever claim to be someone I am not, you are welcome to call me out, in case you want to go down another road.

Okay. Fair is fair. Appreciate the least honesty. How would you prefer to be addressed?

That's right Noodles! You know my real name, and that's not it.

You've stated your case well and your privacy is important. Perhaps I was mistaken. If so, my apology. Nobody is interested in "another road".

Why is first name identity disclosure such a hot button issue for some? Plx help a dinosaur left over from the Ewardian Wilderness to understand.

It has to do with personal info etc. It is sometimes pretty easy to figure out someone's location etc from web info. Stalkers, identity thieves etc use info found on the web.

Some of us have good reasons to be paranoid about name disclosure. For instance, if I were to disclose my name, then the Witness Protection program would have to uproot me and move me to a new location and new identity. It's incredibly disruptive and expensive, so I try to keep a low profile.

so shhhhhhhhhhhhhh...............
