I just started a game with someone under these circumstances. Pleas explain it to an idiot like me. Does thsi mean that I must finish the game in 24 hours?

You get 24 hours to make your move after the other guy moves.

If you don't move within 24 hours you can be timed-out

firstly this should be in the help/only chess forum but anyway

1 day time out means you have 1 whole day to make your moves and with the no timebank if you don`t move within 24hrs of your opponent moving he can claim the win
