Come to think of it, yes, where are they? If Michael Crawford hits the top 20, then Mr Bean should surely feature somewhere. Good point!

Amazingly the top 10 Brits doesn't contain 1 Scot.
Mhmmmm... I wonder who did all the voting?

What about Flemming (antibiotics)? What about Baird (the TV)?
Hell, what about Sean Connery (James Bond)?

As for Churchill (warmongering tory git), Diana (rich whore) and Lizzy (even richer whore)...
EEEEEEKS.

He started life as a Liberal back when the Liberal Party meant something. Even if you don't like his politics (he was against the India Bill [giving India sovreignty] and put down some strikes rather brutally) you have to admit he was a great man.

Not only does he get onto the top Brits list I'd put him on the top Americans list too.

churchill did not start as a liberal, he was conservative mp for oldham, and moved to the liberals because of his friendship with lloyd george, then he went back to the tories again, after being defeated in 1922 in dundee by a prohitibition candidate.

he did oppose the india bill, votes for women, approved of using the army to break up strikes.

before becoming pm, he was on the wrong side on a number of issues.

i dont care who the greatest brit is, though i think we should have a ten greatest scots.

My bad on the Liberal thing, it's been a while since I read his biography. On the plus side I know what a capital letter is.
