It's going to happen soon : every month more players make it, and now 97 players are above the "magic" figure.
It doesn't seem so long ago that David Tebb won the race to be the first player over 2000 ... seemed like a much bigger milestone then. 3000, anyone ?
it's pretty impossible to say what for example weyerstass' real rating 'should' be on rhp now, because the gap to others is so big. as it is, he gets 3-4 points for winning a 2000 player. soon he'll get 0 points for those. still, he never loses. same thing with many others. but as more and more players get to 2200-2400, there will be more points for the top dogs also, and the differences will become more visible. who knows, maybe they'll break the 3000 eventually.
Congratulations bolshevik for making it.
In fact we may suffer from some distortion in rating with verybody starting with 1200 and bringing in points to the system. But in itself the system should be consistent. So even if we had a 2800 person it wouldn't follow automatically that this person could beat Kramnik, or Topalev or Anand
